Hair Loss

Hair Loss
This is loosing hairs anywhere on the head. This is termed as “alopecia”. Alopecia is basically Latin, but can be found to Greek “alopecia”, which itself means alopek – the fox. Literally it refers mange in foxes. This could be due to innumerable causes. There are many types especially alopecia areata or scarring alopecia etc.
Loosing hairs is quite common and natural too. It is obvious that when you comb or take bath, 50-100 hairs go off. This could be natural tendency of the body. But loosing too many hairs even when sitting, sleeping or performing daily routine is labeled as alopecia.
It seems common but challenging diseases affecting almost in age group from young to elderly. Apart from physical deficiency, this impacts on mental status too. One’s physical appearance plays important role in self image. Its general saying that outer appearance doesn’t matter, inner personality is what counts. Is it fully agreeable? Isn’t it that we are judged by how we look. In job interview, first date, meetings, debate or introduction, your first impression comes by the look.
If hairline starts getting back one starts loosing confidence in both social and business. This could be because loosing hair not only makes person looking bald but prematurely old as well. Ayurveda deals with this situation carefully.

The Secret to Looking Young?

There is no beautifier of complexion, or form, or behavior, like the wish to scatter joy and not pain around us." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson
A few years ago a friend suggested I consider Retin-A as an anti-aging lotion. "Why in the world would you use this stuff? You have flawless skin?" I told her. I had always thought of Retin-A as something found only in the medicine cabinets of pimply teens. "Honey," she said, "This is WHY I have flawless skin."

My friend was about a decade older than me -- in her late-30s -- and she wasn't the first flawless-skinned woman I would come to know whose dermatologist prescribed Retin-A as a way to combat fine lines and wrinkles.

Now that I'm in the business of beauty and skincare, I know much more about products that really do turn back time, so to say, and reduce lines and wrinkles.

The Secret to Youth: Collagen

Collagen is the key to healthy skin that tends to age well. The change in the pH level of the skin caused by just a few uses of a retinoid product such as Retin-A or AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) can help generate collagen. "Collagen is the skin's structural fiber," dermatologist Dennis Gross said in the October 2005 issue of O Magazine. "As we get older, it breaks down, creating lines and large pores."

The best way to keep collagen from breaking down is avoiding the sun at all costs. Dermatologists warn that up to 90 percent of wrinkles, dark spots and sun damage are caused by sun exposure. This is why they're always preaching the use of sunscreen . However, if the damage is done, you can try to recoup the gorgeous skin you once had. To find out your best option, read on.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A really cuts down on the wrinkles, perhaps better than any other type of skin product. I would recommend skipping the over-the-counter vitamin A products and consider getting a prescription from your doctor for Retin-A, Renova or Retin-A Micro. These contain the ingredient "tretinoin," which is proven more effective on fine lines and wrinkles than retinol, found in most OTC products.
Keep in mind that you shouldn't expose skin to the sun when using Retin-A, Renova or Retin-A Micro. You'll want to cover up with sunscreen and a hat. Vitamin A makes skin very susceptible to skin damage.

Retinoids

Retinoids are the tamer, non-prescription versions of the vitamin A derivatives listed above. Retinoids contain a less harsh Vitamin A derivative called retinol. These products are less potent and therefore great for weekly upkeep.

Alpha & Beta Hydroxy Acids

AHAs and BHAs are better options for women who find the Vitamin A products dry out their skin. AHAs are acid extracts that tend to be more moisturizing. You'll want to look for products that include glycolic (an acid extract from sugarcane), lactic (milk) or citric (citrus fruits).

Vampire Makeup

Vampire Makeup

ampires are a traditional, popular look for Halloween especially this year thanks to "Twilight" and "New Moon." Could there be anything more frightening than bumping into a vampire on this particular night? Here we show you three steps to do vampire makeup for Halloween.

Step 1: Prep the face

An extremely pale face is a must here. You must look as if you have never stepped out into the sunlight. I suggest using foundation from a costume shop meant for other deathly costumes. Before applying any type of face paint, I suggest slathering your face with a foundation primer or moisturizer. This keeps makeup from appearing cakey, especially if you have dry skin.
Apply a puff of powder over entire face to keep it in place. You can use white baby powder here to keep the white effect.

Step 2: Apply the eye makeup

For the perfect vampire makeup, you want a smokey eye. The trick here is to use eyeshadow for the smokey bits, over an eyeliner. You can choose a dark gray, brown or black or have fun with aubergine. Any dark eyeliner and eyeshadow will do you. Apply eyeliner on the inside of eye, on the top and bottom. Then take a dark eyeshadow and apply around the perimeter of the eye. Blend well.
If you really want to go all out as a vampire, pop in fake contact lenses. You can order them online or get them in costume shops.

Step 3: Now have fun with the lips

Vampire lips aren't supposed to be perfect. But they are supposed to be red. To get this look rub lipstick on your finger and press into lips. The "stain" will look authentic. Don't forget to put in your fangs and you're ready to go
